                                      Annual Athletic Fiesta

A splendid afternoon show was witnessed at the AG DAV premises on 17 December 2013. The esteemed personalities from DAV fraternity notably the Chief Guest Dr. R.S Sharma, an exemplary leader of present time, Guest of Honour Dr. Nisha Peshin Director PS II; the Chairman Dr. S.R. Arora ,Vice Chairman Dr. V.B. Aggrawal, Manager Sh. Nanak Chand, Mr. Arjun Singh and many other distinguished LMC and PTA members graced the occasion with their presence. This prestigious ceremony started with the floral welcome and address to the august gathering by the Principal Mrs Mala Sood. A brilliant March Past was conducted by all the six houses denoted by the acronym- VANSHJ. The meet was declared open by the Chief Guest by lighting the torch. The House Captains along with Sports Captain took oath of displaying sportsmanship in the athletic meet. This was followed by a plethora of events like Dance, Yoga, Races and Aerobics. Also a heart throbbing Karate demonstration showed how this art fills a person with confidence. An overall achievement report by the sports captain embarked the herald of AGDAV?s new beginning. All the academics toppers, great artists and sports persons along with the winners of the events held on 13-14 December 2013 were awarded by the Chief Guest LMC members and principal. The best house trophy was bagged by Satpura house for their extraordinary performance. The Chief Guest appreciated it by saying that the school has added one more feather in AGDAV?s cap by organising this Athletic Meet. He also appreciated Nitin Rai, a student of class XI who has been selected for IPL, Sanjay Puri, Alumnus of the school, who will be representing India in Russia and Sourish Das who won the consolation prize in I GENIUS YOUNG TALENT HUNT judged by Chetan Bhagat and Ruskin Bond. School Chairman Dr. S. R. Arora also appreciated the efforts of School Principal Mrs. Mala Sood, the staff and the students for making this event a success. Overall it was a day for all the AGDAVians to display their athletic talent and discipline.
